This year Great Bear Charters is excited to announce that we will be offering four-hour cruises twice daily out of our new homeport in Point Hudson Marina at the end of Highway 20 in historic downtown Port Townsend. We are able to accommodate up to six passengers and offer complementary beverages and a light snack. Eight-hour sails out into the strait of Juan De Fuca or south down Admiralty inlet can be arranged. We are also available for special events and small parties.

Singawing has recently undergone a complete refit and now is truly considered an eco-charter vessel. With the expertise of Revision Marine in Port Townsend, we installed a serial electric Hybrid propulsion system that will allow all day charters to break completely free from the noise and fossil fuel pollution of a normal sailboat under power.

Imagine quietly slipping out of Point Hudson marina out into Port Townsend bay. You will hear only the lap of the water on the hull and smell only the salt laden air. Once positioned a safe distance from shore we will raise our sails and cruise along the beautiful Port Townsend Victorian waterfront. A 180-degree tack will set us out across Admiralty Inlet over near the shores of Whidbey Island. Flanked by 10,800-foot Mount Baker to the north, 14,411-foot Mount Rainier to the south, and the majestic Olympic mountain range separating us from the Pacific Ocean to the west. When it’s time to head in after beverages, laughter, and good times we will drop the sails and silently, electrically power back into the bay to quickly recharge on 100% renewable clean electricity from the northwest hydroelectric dams.

When whales have been seen in the area we will make diversions to view them in their natural habitat.
We will begin bookings on a first come/call basis on the 1st of June 2017 and continue offering daily sails until October 15th.
